For the mentor delivering. The page is called Attendance check-in and lists your sessions for the day. There is no undo, so check the card before you tap.
Steps
- Open the check-in page on your phone. It lists your sessions for today, in time order.
- For another day, use the arrows, Today, or the date box. You can go back a week and ahead two weeks.
- When you have the young person, tap Collected & start. That marks them as delivered and opens the write-up.
- To mark it and write up later, tap Just mark collected (no recording) instead.
- If they did not come, tap Not delivered. Choose the reason that fits.
- Write what happened under What happened?. Say whether you saw them with Yes, I saw them or No, then tap Save.
- Read the message that appears. The card then locks and shows the time you answered.
If it goes wrong
- Tapped the wrong one? There is no undo here. Tell your manager straight away.
- Save stays grey? It needs your words under What happened? and an answer about seeing them.
- A message says an email was not sent? Your answer was saved. Tap Continue, or Start the write-up if it is offered.
- No cards? Nothing is booked for you on that day. Check the date.
What the page lists
It shows sessions you are delivering on the chosen day. Some cards come from the booking alone, shown as scheduled, and some already have a write-up under way. Each card shows the time, the young person's reference code and the place.
Delivered
Collected & start stamps the session and takes you into the write-up. The word on screen is Delivered once it is done. Just mark collected (no recording) stamps it and stops, so the write-up is still to do.
Not delivered
Choose why it did not happen, write what happened, and say whether you saw them. Yes, I saw them counts as a safe and well check. This replaces a full write-up for that session, and your manager reads what you wrote.
The emails
On the day, either answer emails the organisations set up as the young person's contacts, such as the school. Messages tell you how many were sent. If none are set up, the message says so.
For a session that was not today, nobody is emailed, and the message says that. Your answer is still saved.
Check-in and the Planner
The Planner pop-up and Home use the same two answers. Whichever you use first, the others show it. You do not need to answer twice.
- Check inCollected or not delivered
- EmailsContacts told on the day
- Write-upOpened if you chose start

How it links together
The answer is stored on the session and is the same one Home and the Planner pop-up give. It emails the school or authority contacts set up on the young person's record, but only on the day. It also feeds attendance and counts of missed sessions in reports. See the attendance guide and the guide to a missed session.
