Accept your invitation and join

Open the link in your invitation email, set your name and password, and land on your Home page.

Checked against the screens:

Every organisation can choose its own words for the people and roles it works with. When you are signed in, this guide uses your organisation’s words. Otherwise it uses the product’s own.

For someone who has been invited to join an organisation. The link in the email only works for the address it was sent to.

Steps

  1. Open the invitation email and select the link. Open it on the device you will use.
  2. Check the page names your organisation and the role you were invited as.
  3. Type Your name as you want colleagues to see it.
  4. Check Email. It is filled in for you and cannot be changed here.
  5. Choose a Password of at least twelve characters.
  6. Press Accept invitation. You land on your Home page.

If it goes wrong

  • If you see Invitation expired, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
  • If you see Invitation already accepted, the link has been used. Go to the sign-in page instead.
  • If you see Invitation not found or Invitation link missing, the link is wrong or has been withdrawn. Ask for a fresh invitation.

How it links together

An invitation is made by someone with access to the team page. Accepting it creates your account and gives you the role chosen for you, and the person who invited you is told.

You then appear on the staff list. See the guides on inviting a person and on signing in.

From invitation to HomeThe link opens the page, you set a password, and your role is added.

Before you start

An invitation belongs to one email address. Use the email it was sent to, even if you normally read mail through another address.

Open the link in a normal browser window. If your email app opens it in a small built-in viewer, copy the link into your browser instead.

What the page checks

The page looks up the invitation from the link. It tells you plainly if the link is missing, not recognised, already used or out of date. Nothing is created until you press Accept invitation.

When it is valid, the page is headed with the organisation's name. It also shows the role you have been invited as.

Choosing your password

You set your own password on this page. It must be at least twelve characters. Nobody else will see it, and you should not share it.

After you accept, your role is added to the organisation and you are taken to Home. If your organisation asks for two-step sign-in, you will be shown how to set it up.

When the link does not work

  • Invitation expired: invitations only last a while. The person who invited you can send another.
  • Invitation already accepted: you or someone else has used it. Use the sign-in page, or reset your password there.
  • Invitation not found: the link was changed or the invitation was withdrawn.
  • Invitation link missing: the link lost its last part. Copy it again from the email.

After you join

Take a minute to read the guide called Find your way around. Then check your profile under the account menu so colleagues see the right name and job title. Your admin can change your role if it is wrong.
