View a funder dashboard and share it safely

See your internal view, make a public link or embed code for a funder, know what the funder sees, and switch it off.

Checked against the screens:

Every organisation can choose its own words for the people and roles it works with. When you are signed in, this guide uses your organisation’s words. Otherwise it uses the product’s own.

The internal view is for managers and admins. The public link is for the funder, who needs no account.

Steps

  1. Open Funder dashboards and press View → on a dashboard row. This is your internal view.
  2. Check each tile. The internal view shows your own figures with nothing withheld.
  3. Go back to the dashboard's editor. Under Embed, read the Before you publish note carefully.
  4. Press Generate embed token. The page shows an embed snippet. Copy it into the funder's web page, or share the address.
  5. To check what the funder sees, open the public address in a private browser window.
  6. To stop sharing, press Revoke token. The link stops working at once.

If it goes wrong

  • If the page says Dashboards not shown, you need the manager or admin role. Ask someone who has it to share the dashboard.
  • If a revoke did not reach the system, the link may still be on. Reload the page and check before you leave it.
  • If a tile shows a saved report is missing, open the editor and pick another report.

The internal view

The internal view runs your tiles for your whole organisation with nothing withheld. A cohort set on the dashboard is not applied to the figures yet. Do not use this page to decide what is safe to publish, because the public view is stricter.

What a funder sees

  • The dashboard name and its tiles, in the order you listed them, up to twelve.
  • Counts only. No names, dates of birth, postcodes or reference codes.
  • Groups with fewer than five young people behind them are left out, and a sentence says that some groups are not shown.
  • A tile whose report groups by an identifying field is withheld.
  • A note if tiles beyond the twelfth were left out.

Making and checking the link

A public token is made when you press Generate embed token. Anyone with the address can read the dashboard until you revoke it. The page shows an iframe snippet to paste into another site. Test the link before you send it.

Why two tiles can still give something away

Each tile is protected on its own. Comparing two tiles that slice the same children in different ways can still reveal one child. Keep public tiles to one way of grouping. Do not publish two that cut the same children apart in different directions.

Revoking and sharing again

Revoking turns the old link off for good. The list shows it as Revoked. Generating again makes a new link, which you must send to the funder. The old link does not come back.

Charts

A chart draws up to twelve groups. If there are more, a note says it shows the first twelve of the total.

How it links together

What a link exposesSharing turns your internal figures into a safe public view.
  1. Internal viewEverything you can see
  2. Safety rulesCounts only, small groups hidden
  3. LinkToken and embed code
  4. FunderReads the board

The funder sees the same tiles you built, after the public rules are applied. Revoking the token stops the link at once. Editing tiles changes what the funder sees next time they open it. See the guide on making a funder dashboard.

Questions people ask

Who can open the public link?

Anyone who has the address, until you revoke it. It needs no sign-in.

Can a funder see a child's name?

No. The public view only shows counts, and hides groups of fewer than five.

How do I stop a funder seeing it?

Open the editor and press Revoke token. The link stops working straight away.

Why does the public view show fewer groups than mine?

Small groups are left out to protect children. A note under the tile says how many.

Is the internal view the same as what the funder sees?

No. The internal view shows everything you can see. The public one is stricter.

Can I get the same link back after revoking?

No. Generating again makes a new link, and the old one stays off.
