Funder dashboards are for managers, admins and DSLs. The Funder dashboards section is on by default for managers, and an admin can switch it on for others.
Steps
- First build and save the reports you want to show. Each tile is made from one saved report.
- Open Funder dashboards, titled Compose a funder dashboard. Under New funder dashboard, type a name in Dashboard name and press Create.
- In the editor, press + Add tile. Choose the saved report, give the tile a title, and choose KPI or Chart.
- Add as many tiles as you need. Press remove on a tile you do not want.
- Read the Before you publish note, then press Save.
- Find the dashboard again in Your portfolio. Its row shows the number of tiles and whether a public link is on.
If it goes wrong
- If + Add tile says to save a report first, go to the builder and save one.
- If saving fails, the message says why. Fix the line it names and press Save again.
- If the page says it could not confirm your role, reload it, or ask an admin to check your role.
What a dashboard is
A dashboard pulls saved reports together for one funder or commissioner. Each tile shows one report as a single figure (KPI) or as a chart. The page lists your dashboards with how many tiles each has and whether its public link is Enabled, Revoked or Off.
Tiles
A tile uses a saved report, its own title and a type. Use KPI for a single count and Chart for a breakdown. You can rename the tile without renaming the report. The tiles show in the order listed, so put the ones you most want to share first.
The limit on public tiles
A public page shows only the first twelve tiles, in order, and says so to the funder. If you have more than twelve, the editor warns you. Remove or reorder tiles if the ones you want shared are further down.
The scope box
The Scope box holds an optional filter in a technical format. The internal view does not apply it to the figures yet, so do not rely on it to hide anyone. Leave it as it is unless you have been told what to enter.
Keeping children safe in what you publish
Each tile is checked on its own. It can only show counts, and any group with fewer than five young people behind it is withheld. A report that groups by a name, reference, date of birth or postcode cannot be shown publicly. Read the note about comparing two tiles before you publish.
Changing a dashboard later
Open it from Your portfolio by name. Change the name, tiles or scope and press Save. If a saved report is deleted, its tile says the report is missing.
How it links together
- ReportSaved in the builder
- TileAdded to a dashboard
- CheckInternal view
- SharePublic link
Tiles read live records through your saved reports, so the dashboard updates as your team records. The public link applies stricter rules than your own view. Deleting a saved report leaves its tile empty. Nobody outside your organisation sees anything until you generate a link.
