Open one audit, agree actions and record your judgement

Look closely at one colleague's work, agree actions with a date, and record your overall judgement for the half-term.

Checked against the screens:

Every organisation can choose its own words for the people and roles it works with. When you are signed in, this guide uses your organisation’s words. Otherwise it uses the product’s own.

One audit in detail: its tabs and what each one holds.

For managers and admins. You cannot judge your own audit; another manager writes it.

Steps

  1. On the list, press Open audit for the person.
  2. Read the Overview tab: the figures and the trend over twelve weeks.
  3. Open Sessions to see the work behind a figure, week by week.
  4. Open Development for reviews, agreed actions and observations.
  5. After supervision, agree an action with a title, detail and a date, then press Add action.
  6. When it is done, press Mark done and say how it was done.
  7. Choose a half-term at the top, rate their practice and write what they do well and need help with.
  8. Press Save review. Use Print for supervision if you need a copy.

If it goes wrong

  • If the audit will not load, close it and open it again, or use the full page.
  • A review belongs to a half-term. Choose one at the top before you write.
  • If a save may not have worked, reload and check before trying again.
  • Do not close an action just to clear an overdue count.

How it links together

Actions and judgements appear on the development timeline for that person. The person's own view depends on the audit setting. Observations in the same tab are covered in the observation guides.

The tabs

  • Overview shows the headline figures and the trend.
  • Sessions lists the work by week and by young person.
  • Write-ups and reports, and Training, show the paperwork and the staff training record.
  • Development holds reviews, actions and observations.

Reading the sessions

For each visit you can see whether it went ahead. You can see whether notes were sent on the day, late or not at all. You can also see whether it is waiting to come back. Use this to ask, not to accuse.

Agreed actions

An action has a title, optional detail and a follow-up date. Past its date it shows as overdue. You can mark it done, drop it with a reason, or reopen it.

Your own actions

If the actions are your own, another manager agrees and closes them.

The half-term review

The review has a practice rating and a comment. Earlier half-terms are listed below. It is a judgement for the half-term, not for a single week.

Printing for supervision

Print for supervision opens a printable page. Use it in a one-to-one. Keep copies secure because they name a person.

Questions people ask

Why can't I write my own review?

Your own audit is reviewed by another manager, so the page tells you so.

What is the difference between an action and a review?

An action is a specific next step with a date. A review is your overall judgement for the half-term.

Can I change a review?

Yes. The button changes to Update review once you have saved one.

How do I drop an action?

Use Drop on the action and say why. It stays in the history.

Can I print an audit?

Yes. Use Print for supervision or the full page's print button.

Why did a figure change?

Figures follow the period you chose. Check the period before comparing.
